About Black & White Roofing
Long Line of Military Relationship
Our business has a long line of relationship with the military as currently the company has several veterans on our sales team including the owner himself, who is a former AH-64D Apache Attack Helicopter Pilot/Gunner in the Missouri Army National Guard. Many veterans were previously deployed overseas to serve our country. All veterans together have a combined over 80 years of military service in the United States Army, Airforce and Navy, and 3 members are currently still serving. We are proud to say we are a veteran owned and operated business and are certainly proud to hire veterans as well.

Zhengjia C. McDevitt
My name is Zhengjia McDevitt. I am a proud mother of two beautiful children and Joe’s wife. I was born and raised in a highly industrialized city of Shenyang, China. When I was a sophomore in Liaoning University pursuing a degree in business, I decided to study abroad so I could improve my English skills. Next thing you know that I traveled to Missouri and started my life in the Midwest. As an international student, I attended Northwest Missouri State University with a scholarship, majored in Corporate Finance. I am always good with numbers and enjoy solving math problems. I speak fluently in English, Chinese and Japanese. Don’t get me wrong, English was a big issue for me during my 1st year of college in the US. I remember I had to work my way around to fix the issue, sometimes it involved in recording the professor’s entire lecture with my cellphone, so I could go back to the apartment to listen to it over and over until I fully understood it. Hard work is always paid off. I scored the highest grades in my finance, accounting classes and literature class in college. My professors were very impressed with me. Since then I know I can do anything as long as I put my mind into. People are always so curious about why I chose to go to school in Missouri, not somewhere on the east or west coast where most foreign students choose to live and go to school. The answer comes easy, I wanted to live and breathe the real western life and practice English in every situation. Here is something to be said, I met my now husband Joe the first day of school where he was a junior. After Joe and I successfully graduated from college, we moved to Fort Rucker of Alabama due to Joe was accepted to Army Flight School where he was trained for 2 years to learn to fly apache helicopter for Missouri National Guard. We moved back to Lake of the Ozarks where we call home with a 6 weeks old baby boy after Joe graduated from Army Flight School and he was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer II soon after. Today my husband is running a reputable roofing business and I help with the accounting work for his business. My other full-time job is an accountant in banking. Joe and I certainly enjoy living at the lake. We are very pleased with the decision of establishing a small business here that provides jobs opportunities to the lake residents and makes homeowners’ houses beautiful.
My name is Curtis King and I was born and raised right here in mid Missouri. My beautiful wife Kristi and I married in 2012. We have 2 children Kennadi (4) and Kheyton (2). In my spare time I enjoy doing anything outdoors and spending time with my family.

He was born and raised in Osceola, MO, but he is currently living in Chicago, IL. He Graduated from Osceola High School in 2008, and attended Northwest Missouri State University from 2008 to 2012. While attending, he studied Park and Recreational Management. He was a part of the Missouri Army National Guard for just over 7 years. During his time in the Military, he was an Apache Attack Helicopter Pilot/Gunner. He says, “There is no better work environment than with friends, but here at Black and White Roofing those friends are fellow veterans and the best roofing professionals you can get.”
lived in Eldon, MO for around 13 years. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran. He has spent most of my adult life in the trucking industry. Most recently providing safety consulting to several trucking companies through out the United States. After being laid off by my previous employer I decided that it was time for a change. Lucky for me there was a company that likes to hire veterans and was willing to be patient and provide the training needed to be successful. I have enjoyed my time working at Black and White Roofing and look forward to continuing to learn and hopefully help this company remain successful.

Project Manager & Supplement Specialist
I am a local born and raised! I went to School of the Osage from K-12 where I graduated from in 2004, I went to University of Missouri Rolla for a year as a Computer Science Major, decided it wasn’t for me, and then went on to get a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Administration from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO in 2009. I stayed in the restaurant industry for just over 17 years (starting as a busser at the age of 15) until finally ready to move on at the age of 32 to something new. During my time in the hospitality industry, I’ve worked for companies such as Golden Corral, The Pasta House, Cheddar’s and the lake’s own Redhead Lakeside Grill. I’ve moved around trying out different areas including Austin Texas, Carbondale Illinois, and Columbia MO but always end up back here so I’ve decided this is where I’m going to stay! I really like working for Joe at Black & White, the atmosphere is great!
